Unit 1 Skatepark, Saturday 20th

As planned, we went ahead with the Unit 1 Skatepark visit on Saturday. Expecting there to be about 10 of us, I was pretty stoked to see such a great turn out! Mr Sam Way did a great job of rounding up the troops and there ended up being about 18 of us in a 5 car convoy.
The journey was smooth, aside from Pikey in his XR2 and Steve in his van racing half the way. Regardless, we all got there on time for the 8pm last session finish, ready for our private session to start. Despite pissing off some of the local guys who obviously get to skate there after hours, we were let in 30 mins early and the price came down from £10 each to £7.. not sure how that happened, but no one questioned it. Most were impressed with the layout and the bowl went down a treat. The nearest bowls to us being Eastleigh, they are pretty heavy and concrete, so the wood was a nice change.
It didnt take long for everyone to get stuck in. In terms of footage, i didn’t get as much as i thought at all! In fact, it was quite tricky.. everyone was going off by mid session and i didn’t know where to look. Did manage to a fair bit, so there will be a short-ish section up before Christmas. Was just enjoying the skate to be honest!
Would just like to extend some thanks to Debbie at Unit 1 who got us in at a reasonable time. Seriously would recommend this to everyone in the area. You get such a good vibe when its just your crew and none of the snaking.
