Crawley Skatepark Review

Herbal Skateboards Skateboarding Video

February 23rd, 2009

Crawley Skatepark really needs no introduction. This park sets the standard which all UK Skateparks should follow. Its almost entirely concrete, which means its perfectly smooth.

A Bowl makes up for half the space which features three depths, a ‘nipple’ and a 9ft cradle invert. All of which full gnarly and very usable if you have the balls! Aside from the bowl is the ‘street line’ as you could call it. A hubba, across and down, box, and huge rail all run together leading up to a micro-quarter or down and into a perfectly heighten, placed and smoothed hip. On top of the hip a nice curved box. The rest of the park is a mixture of flowy-lines, quaterpipes and a spine into the bowl. Just to keep the BMX’ers happy, there is a massive roll-in too the only wooded part of the park, the jump-box – which is mammoth! The icing on the cake is that this park is flood-lit till 10pm, very clean, tidy and will last for years to come. Although it can get very busy, the local crowd is pretty friendly.

This park really is a benchmark for UK Skateparks and all other councils should sit-up and take note from the Crawley Council and the Crawley Freestyle Association who made all this possible. Big props and this is definitely a park to visit!

Getting there

Very easy to find, once you know how! It sits pretty much in the center of Crawley, about a 5 minute walk from Crawley Train Station. Best access is from the M23 if your coming down the country, of the A264 if your coming in from the East or West. The post-code for your Sat-Nav is RH10 6HG. Big car-park thats free! Happy Trails
